I just got an email from Google and it seems like an excellent benefit for those who got Google One like myself and downgraded to a 100GB plan. Also free dark web monitoring.

Google VPN doesn't let your choose a country. I have Google One but still pay for another VPN service.

Isn't it a headache though to change everything move to VPN compatible router, etc. If I buy a router can I make specific TV or device go through that router as a sub-router within my home network? I assume not possible since sub router still has to go back to my home router?

You can plug the VPN router to a lan port on your existing router and use it only for specific devices. Some routers will also allow you to specify which devices to tunnel through the VPN and which ones to keep out of the VPN.

Thanks, I'll consider getting a different router I think.
I had issues having 2 routers with the ISP's modem/router, I was told it was clashing or causing multiple NAT or something.

yeah, you have to pay for an additional public IP if you want to connect two routers directly to the ISP modem. that is how technology works. You can connect one router to ISP and then connect ask many you want to your router.

With the way Optimum is handling my 1 existing internet, I would be very worried about how they could manage 2nd IP. Optimum's router/modem combo is huge pain in the neck. I hate it with passion.
