Had 2 Hover-1s, both had battery failure (they would turn on and work for 5 min then turn off for 10 min or so) just after a year of ownership.

I would be more worried about the reviews showing the front wheel snapping off causing major injury.

we've had a Hoover-1 Blackhawk for 18 months and no problems so far. Many rides. I'm 230 lbs 6'2" and both i and my wife have been riding it a lot.

Stupid statement. Everyone has different purposes.

I use an e-scooter to ride around with my little sons, It's the best.

No wonder the obesity crisis is so bad in America. Everything is made for minimal exertion.
Still... you have to admit it's pretty impressive when a scooter can handle this guy...

I've had this for a year and a half (used as a regular commuter 2-3x/week, 2 miles each way), bought a refurb for more from Woot. It was much better than the Hover-1 Pioneer which is their M365 knockoff. I like the wide platform (a bit annoyed by the creaking plastic, but if it starts to break I'll replace it with a skateboard style deck). I like the lights and the power is decent enough to get me up steep hills with only a light kick from me. In contrast to the Pioneer which when going uphill full throttle feels like riding an unpowered scooter on the flat. It is heavier than the Pioneer, so harder to pick up to throw in my Jeep, but that's a minor tradeoff. Only real drawback is fewer accessories/upgrades out there that will work with it. I've upgraded the Pioneer with a front suspension built for the M365 and it fit perfectly. I've tried to find a rack and front suspension for this but nothing has fit so far.

There are certainly better quality ones out there--but for the price, IMO this is the best there is.

Thank you for proving my point. Applause
I would like you to post a picture of yourself for all to see how fit and trim you are. I'll follow suit and then we can see who wins this one.
