Samsung 100% stay away from. LG seems to get pretty high marks.

Probably good as far as 'deal' goes, but I hear all sorts of horror stories about LG / Samsung fridges.

Why listen? Experience it for yourself. My German car has had less issues than two toyotas I own. Owner of Samsung fridge, 3rd year is working fine.

Luck of the draw, I guess. My LG fridge never gave me issues since I got it from Bestbuy in early 2014.

Call me old fashioned, but I like to open the door to look around. Wouldn't feel right just looking in at half the fridge

Had my Samsung RF4287HARS for 13 years...no issues whatsoever besides the Ice maker having issues in year 12.
Just bought a Samsung Bespoke 4 door flex (amazing fridge)...no issues.
Samsung and LG SELL the most...so of course there will be more complaints.
One thing every refrigerator person on youtube says to stay away from is the ice maker in the door. This LG has it...the Samsung bespoke doesnt.

My parents bought theirs in 2004 (yep almost 20 years ago) at Bestbuy. Was a Korean made model. It was one of the first model they had with the linear compressor. Still runs and no repair man has ever messed with it. It's in the garage now for around 9 years since the home came with a built in fridge when we moved. In general we've been lucky with LG. No issues with their appliances (Dryer is 20 years old, washer is 10; previous washer died after 10). I just purchased a LG dishwasher for my home so we will see how long that lasts. I also purchased a scratch and dent Samsung front load for my home. It's not as nice as the LG but for the price difference it's working well. We will see the longevity on that since most people swear against Samsung

Our 2018 Samsung fridge was so bad Best Buy told us that they could keep fixing the same issue every 6 months or so, but couldn't give us a new one because Samsung wouldn't recall it, in spite of it being a known issue. It was so bad Samsung provided Best Buy with the repair parts needed, but the "repair" only worked for a limited period of time because it was just poorly designed.

2019 checking in. in addition to ice maker issues, it more annoyingly just stops cooling. except the temp on the door shows what it's set to, not the actual temp. we have to reset it several times a week. Samsung gave up on fixing it and their cs is beyond horrid

I bought this fridge less then one year ago and already have had multiple issues. The LG tech that has come said a ton of these fridges built during Covid came with non manufacture garbage parts as they had to outsource as their normal factory parts were in short supply… glad I got the extended warranty…
