It's very close to a 3080 performance. Slightly better depending upon the game. IMHO if you have a 3060ti, 3070 or a 3080 it's not worth to upgrade.

That being said I myself have a 3070, I'm skipping the 4 series GPU and wait to see what the 5 series will offer.

I wouldn't do the upgrade unless you can get a premium price for selling your 3060ti. The 4070 is based on a similar size die to the 3060 Ti. We're currently at a weird point in game development where game devs are hammering VRAM and only just now mastering the new consoles. Getting any 40-series card with less than 16GB vram is probably gonna just be money down the drain as games get more demanding very fast.

update: this card has 12GB not 8GB like I mentioned prior

Keep in mind that the 8GB of vram here is going to hold you back playing some games at high or ultra settings.

Posting here, since this may matter too some folk.

Rtx4070 specs turned me off based off memory selected and poor performance compared to 30 series. Not biting, keeping my 1070 for another cycle unless prices change drastically. The 4070ti is impressive but still overpriced for what it is. HOLDING... LOL
