I've had 6 in-wall/ceiling speakers and 4 of the 1000 series On-q/Legrand speakers. All were clearanced out at Lowe's while I was working there about 2-3 years ago so I got ridiculous deals on them and figured I would give them a shot.

I believe the other comment referring to a clearanced model at Lowe's may be mistaking these 7000 series models for the 1000 series that were indeed clearanced out a few years ago. This is the link to the pairs I'm referencing (and I believe the other Slickdealer is referencing too):

Legrand 36465902V1 OnQ EvoQ3000 Outdoor Speakers (Set of 2) https://a.co/d/fO0ZrD2

That being said, I've owned multiple models of indoor/outdoor speakers. 3 different models of popular Polk models, Legrand, Monoprice, etc. I'm also a fan of high end audio but don't stick my nose up to a good deal on budget audio equipment.

From my experiences with all of these speakers, I would say that this is a really good price on what will probably be a decent pair of speakers. They won't blow anyone away with any specific features or sound profile but every one of the speakers I had wired up in my shop performed excellently with no audible distinction between similarly made Polk models (I was very surprised about that revelation when I tested them side by side). I used them in the heat and cold of Georgia seasons for two years and sold them looking and sounding brand new.

I would not shy away from this purchase if you are in the market for some outdoor audio equipment.

I have the white version of this from Lowes. I bought a couple pair on clearance for $17 and they sound good, but I've had two tweeters fail and I bring them in out of freezing weather after the season.

I've been wanting to get a bit better audio in my 1987 pickup truck. I bought a new JVC head unit and new Kicker 5 1/4" speakers for the doors. Still sounds like crap and there's no other place for bigger speakers. I have small bluetooth "Clip" speakers that blow away my truck speakers. I wish I could just wire a couple of these Clips to the head unit and stick them in the door holes.
So now I'm looking at these surface mount speakers that maybe I could hang in the upper rear corners of my ext. cab. I don't know if they'll sound any better than the 5 1/4" Kickers in the doors. Maybe I do a try and return if not any better.

Any suggestions on good Bluetooth speakers. Will be used for outdoor home theater, but will be mounted outdoors year round in Pa.

4 ratings - just one with a write-up, and that one is "okay"? Another quality 'Staff' posting!

Special Feature: Radio
Recommended Uses For Product: Moisturizing
When your skin gets dry from listening to the radio outside you can always use the speaker to moisturize it?
Descriptions like that tell me all I need to know about a product. If they can't take the time to proofread their advertising correctly, I just avoid the item:
Not be quality good to for using life. (sic) laugh out loud

Bluetooth speakers need charged. If you want two outdoor stereo speakers mounted up high, buy these and run them to a cheap receiver and get a $9 Bluetooth receiver on eBay and some speaker wire. It will sound much better and look nicer if you spend a lot of time on your deck. Shopgoodwill.com has awesome deals on receivers without HDMI or older HDMI versions that would work perfectly. Or buy a Bluetooth amp like Fosi that does everything to power these outdoor speakers.
For $50, this is an outstanding deal. You won't find 6.5" 2 way outdoor speakers anywhere near this price unless they're clearance or discontinued.
Nice find OP.

Not a good idea. These are huge at almost 10" long. You'll be blocking 20" of rear view out of your back window. Pick up trucks are difficult for sound. You need an amplifier, in dash tweeters that bounce the sound off the windshield, and a subwoofer under the rear seat. There's no cheap, easy, permanent way to get great sound in a pickup. And 5.25" door speakers firing at your legs won't do it. What kind of truck?

1987 F-250 extended cab.
If I use a small JBL bluetooth speaker on the back seat it sounds plenty good enough for me. I don't understand why that sounds so much better than the installed system. But I can't get radio on the JBL. If my head unit could output to the JBL then my speaker problem would be solved.

Unless you mount them vertically in the top back corners of the cab.

I would not recommend that at all. Installing them anywhere, they will be extremely large and awkward in a cab BUT I also understand it is not my truck and you know the space better than anyone here will. I would recommend finding a highly rated head unit/speaker combo and doing calibrations to tune it to where you want them to be. I don't know what models of JVC or Kicker products you got but I would focus on automotive specific products before putting anything like this in your vehicle.
