Until Samsung releases a 4TB 990 PRO, this is the fastest, most efficient 4TB drive currently. Samsung hasn't said anything beyond 2023 as a target. This drive has been $299 recently but if you really need 4TB right this second, this is your best option. Amongst 2TB drives, the 850x is behind the 990 Pro and the Platinum P41/Solidigm P44 but the difference isn't that noticeable on PC. The Playstation 5 OS throttles performance so the perceived difference is even smaller.

Hold. There's no reason why anyone must have a 4TB drive at this very moment.
I disagree, very easy for many of us to fill up a 4tb on ps5 or pc with games...

Insane statement. Who are you to decide what data needs others have?

I'm hard up against the 2TB wall on the PLAYSTATION 5 and would fill a 4TB easily. I'm waiting for Sony to change the OS to allow 8TB drives.

Anyone using this in a PC could have 2 or 3 other NVME drives in the system...

It did hit 300 on Amazon the end of March. I thought that was a fair price and got in on it. Prices riding back up for density is just an artificial premium at this point. Time machine memes aside, a month hasn't been that long ago so just wait it out.
