anyone think hooking 4 of these up to a raspberry pi and using it as a storage NAS only for delivering content would be a good idea?

note: This would not run plex, another PC would, but this would purely be for the storage of the information.

Raspberry PI will become unstable if there are sudden power issues.

By default, OS is loaded from SD card, so I'm my experience I've had multiple os corruption issues due to this

Maybe booting through USB drive may make it more stable.

I personally will recommend Synology. Worth the investment.
