Just FYI,

https://www.newegg.com/gigabyte-r...ByNewegg=1

The Gigabyte's RX 6600 8GB is at the same price and with the same free game.
But there are three fans.

Actually more fans is generally less noise. Load spread across 3 fans so lower rpm is lower noise

People keep "pulling the trigger" on some of these recent 6800+ deals but the prices are going to keep dropping. Patience.

Thanks for the info, but since when more fans are preferred for video card?
If anything the performance been the same, the one with least amount of fans are preferable: compact size, less noise, less breakable part.
Potential better cooling. Also they believe gigabyte is a better brand, not saying asrock is bad.

im in the market for a card, budget is 250.. maybe 300, paring it with a 8th gen i7, need a solid 1080p option.

This card look like it's getting a little long in the tooth.

pull the trigger or wait for something else?

For 1080p gaming, this card is impossible to beat at its price. It goes toe to toe with the RTX 3060, and sometimes even the Ti version (non ray tracing).

I bought the PowerColor Fighter version of this RX 6600 because it fits in a Jonsbo C2 case being only 210mm in length for that tiny 12 liter PC case. Buying small form factor PCs you have to do some digging into the specs. This ASrock is a hilarious 269 mm for example. The PowerColor also runs cooler than ASrcok and MSI Mech cards despite its compact size so for me the extra $19 from Amazon was an easy sell.

The 6600 is no longer in the tooth than the 6950 XT. Barely two years ago the RX 5700 XT Radeon cards were still being sold new for $350 (also on Newegg). I am very satisfied in 1080p with the 6600 even the non XT version like this one. I overclock it by 200 MHz and undervolt it, and still running 60C tops in the Jonsbo C2, that is the Easy Bake Oven of PC enclosures. Its the Ryzen 5 5600 CPU that is giving me fits with the stock Spire cooler. I need a better CPU cooling solution.

I was looking at this but just picked up a 5700xt new on AliExpress for $120 out the door on sale. I think you are correct These 6600s have better thermals. If you hold the line these cards are going to fall as more games adapt to newer technologies like ray tracing etc. If you just have to have a card now though these are a great value.

Nobody cares about ray tracing. These cost have stabilize so they don't fall much anymore.

ya I mean that's kinda my point looking at the charts it's pretty much flat with the 5700 and that card is even older.
