Just ordered two of the 20 oz bottles - worked with an additional 15% off coupon (1EM-15PO-FH) so got both of them for $32.27 and free shipping since over $30. This is a great price for these.
I teach elementary school and have yet to see an undented hydroflask--even with the protector.

My son uses the takeya ones and he pounds it and it has barely a dent.
The code is working again. They might have fixed it.

The 20oz bottle is a few dollars more and if you do engravings be warned there are no returns or modifications once the order has been placed.

I think these bottles are of great quality, but I can't make myself purchase it cause the straws at the top are not covered.

We recently got two of those. One of them leaked from the first day while the other one started leaking after about a month.

The search continues for leak-proof kids water containers...

We have a large collection of both, and the paint on the hydros also does not hold up. My kids have still managed to dent a couple of the Takeyas, but they hold up MUCH better for a lower cost. Hydro flask and Takeya share lids, so having a mixed collection isn't such a nightmare.

Hydroflask is a weak brand. All the coldness escapes from their mediocre lids

Does anyone know if I can use the normal wide bottle lids on this or if this is a special sized top just for this series of kids bottles?

We have 2 of these that have been going strong for years minus some paint scratched off the images. Our only issue has been when my kid chews through the straw and rips it. At least it's pretty easy to get replacements for that part.

Hydro lids have been a weak spot.
A reason is they are designed to open fast with just a few twists
My cheap Ozark Trail keeps things cold but it takes 5 twists to open.
The Hydro is open with two.
That doesn't sound like much but when you're out all day in hot weather there will be lots of twisting and it becomes pesty.
The hydros are also lighter while the Ozarks are built like tanks and feel that way.
To keep a Hydro from leaking you have to make sure its closed tight.
With these kids bottle there are a great number of comments praising the lack of leaks
