Why wouldn't someone get this if they are in the market for a fast 2tb ssd?

I have it and am very happy with it. It's probably the fastest available gen 4 ssd. However it uses more power than models so it isn't the best choice for a laptop running on battery power. It's a great choice for a desktop however. This price is excellent. I paid $180 6 months ago.

Looks like the 2 TB model is double sided, so won't work on my laptop.

This is pretty fast but I think the Samsung 990 is the fasted among Gen 4 drives, closely followed by Solidigm P44 Pro, SK Hynix Platinum P41 and WD SN850X. The Solidigm and WD were cheaper recently

I just bought a 2TB Fanxiang S770 for $91. 7,400 MB/sec reads, 3D NAND flash, 2 GB DRAM cache, 5 year warranty, and 1700 TBW endurance. $91.

I have it on my ps5, and it is amazing, i'd say even better than the WD Black one "designed" for ps5 (my brother has his with a WD that's how I compare them). I did, however, put a heat sink in as it has a heat spreader. The heat spreader should be enough, but I live in a 110°F city, so I decided to put in a heatsink just as a precaution.

Any Gen 4 will work for PS5, and yes definitely need heat sink.

Never heard of Fanxiang until a few months ago. I bought a few of their drives for some builds because... well not really any reason but because what the hell they're cheap and I like playing with new stuff that doesnt yet have 5,000,000,000 reviews online.

They live up to their claimed performance stats. 0 problems. Work well and fast. I guess time will tell with reliability and endurance.

7000MB/s+ seq reads - man thats effing fast. Say an SATA drive is rated at 500MB/s seq read. Is a game going to load a full 14 times as fast with this drive? Of course not, but still, those numbers are getting impressive.

The 3x4 2TB models from others for $80 are probably still more practical for most people for upgrades, (excluding PS5 of course) but just like anything with computer tech it will only be a small matter of time where "average" systems are shipped with a drive similar to the one in this post.

These drives were highy ranked on TechPowerup and other sites. Here's a few links that may be of interest:

https://www.techpowerup.com/ssd-s...2-tb.d1310

https://score.nero.com/ssd-hdd-be...g-S770-2TB

The benchmark score is high they said this:
Excellent Bench

The Fanxiang S770 2TB top result is just 1% lower than the peak scores attained by the disk leaders.

The Fanxiang S770 2TB will have an Excellent performance on I/O speed.
