Cheap junk? Sure, but it's hell of a lot easier to clean/wash, doesn't smell like feathers, and is pretty dang warm. I think each has its own place. Even real down have their problems with not being RDS or feathers popping out. So to each their own I say. I have both real down and ikea down alt and I think they both fill different needs. I use the features in winter for warmth, and thin "cheap" polyester in summer cause I need some sort of covering. This would probably be a summer comforter for me.
I got my Queen for $60. It's lasted me 3 seasons and held up very nicely.
Yeah but for $10 what do you expect? These are nice for cheap extra blankets

I am in the market for a good comforter. Can you suggest something? My down alternative king comforter (highly rated from amazon) has turned into lumps and open spaces with no way to fix it. TIA

Why not get an actual down comforter? They are breathable and are extremely relaxing and soft. Costco has good specials on the "Royal Luxe" models periodically.

Thanks. And how much are they usually, when on specials?

Thanks. It seems I can pick one up from Costco for under $200.
I did notice that the option were Down, Silk, Wool and Cotton
Any thoughts on what should be the fill? We obviously don't want Down Alternative but what about these? I am concerned about down feathers leaking

It's just more junk to clutter the home. Buy better quality sheets that will last a long time
Sure thing! The one I've been using is this one:

But they have a lot of great options otherwise:
