True, but LG is notorious for issues with their linear compressors failing to the extent where there have been multiple class action lawsuits. I have one also, but if I'd known about these issues beforehand, I might chosen another brand.

I think each brand has some issues. My LG is kicking fine for past 12 yrs.

I had 2 different LG's fridge compressor failed right around 5 years. One of them is just before 5 years and so they cover parts and labor. The second one is just past 5 years and they only cover part ($400 or so) but the labor cost me ~$800.

This is a well known issue with any company who puts ice maker in fridge part. Those environments don't mix at all. Samsung was notorious for putting them in fridge parts.

However the Samsung Bespoke model has a redesign with it in the freezer where it should be. Far less issues.

Recently, I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator from Lowe's and it's garbage too.

You are stuck in the past. That was an issue that has been addressed.

Ice machine on top left of refrigerator cavity? Samsung/through Allstate extended warranty sent a repair kit that included a new ice maker and sealant which fixed my issue. Even the repair guy said the kit solves the problem.

I've had one almost as long and it is doing just fine. I also have a Samsung. In my personal experience, Samsung has much nicer customer service. Working with LG was like pulling teeth. I needed parts from Samsung after purchasing an open box model from Best Buy. BB would not so anything for me even though the defective/damaged parts were hidden unless you removed a door. Their position was "you should have looked more carefully in the store before purchasing it." I called Samsung - who didn't even ask when I'd purchased the thing. The agent asked what parts I needed and they were delivered to my house two days later.

Not had that problem. My experience with their customer service has been very different. That said, I do like the ice that comes out of my old LG better than the Samsung ice. Except for occasionally having to break up ice which has stuck together, both have worked fine.

Never buy LG or Samsung. Those two companies will happily screw you over warranty or not.
