Not really. They're great in the sense that they'll give you that classic strat tone all day long. A big part of Gilmour's sound is the juiced up bridge pickup with the boosted mids, though. That's a unique thing that you can't really nail with these since they're pretty low output.

This more dependent on your amp and pedals than the pickups. So the answer is both yes, and no.

I have the fender Yosemite pickups in my MIM strat, the bridge pickup is a 10k output, with a weak alnico 2 magnet. I have it connected to the tone pot as well, and rolling it down to a sweet spot around 5.5, basically gives you a "weak PAF" sound, that sounds amazing through any level of gain.
