No comments nor feedback on this monitor at all? cap1 is also giving 5% cb on walmart. Are acer monitors just that bad? This was $120 on Amazon just last month.

This is a pretty decent monitor. And why Acer monitors are going to be that bad, they're one of the oldest manufacturers, making LCD Monitors long before Asus, MSI, HP and most of the other brands.

I bought this monitor to replace a 60Hz Dell. I can't go into objective specs on how much better this monitor is from the old one but subjectively, I like this monitor A LOT. I use it on a Ryzen 5600G machine with a Radeon 6650 XT OC and it works great.
I am able to pull 165Hz via HDMI, it had 3 ports (2 HDMI + 1 DP) which allows me to connect my work laptop, personal desktop, and Nintendo Switch.

The brightness is great and I primarily bought this because I sit about 2.5' away from my screen so going bigger, which I tried out, felt very unnatural and just too much for me to handle. This monitor works great. The colors pop, it's PnP, and while I wasn't looking for a curved screen, I really like that it has one.

For work purposes, it allows me to multitask very easily.
For personal purposes, it feels really good to have two web browsers open side by side within my field of view. Beyond that, I like emulate some games and play other PC games which it appears to do very well. I ran an Arkham Knight benchmark on it and it was very easily pulling 180+ FPS within everything on high 1080p. I also ran Heaven and while I can't remember the numbers, I know that it blew it all to hell, in a good way, on extreme settings.

Overall, I consider myself a pretty "picky" buyer or one with very specific needs and this ticked all of the boxes for me.

The criticism I will add is that I think the included stand is a bit ugly. However, I don't really use it since I have dual mount already installed that this went on.

After owning this for about a weekend and test driving it, I am glad I bought it - especially at this price point. The other monitor I was looking to purchase was the AOC 24G2E but that hasn't gone below $130 yet and since this did, I thought I'd at least try this and fall back to that if I didn't like this for whatever reason.

I'm not sure which 60hz Dell monitor you have, but I recently purchased this VA ED240QS and the colors were awful out of the box. I realized that you have to set color from limited to full in Nvidia Control Panel to get even passable colors.

However, unlike you I'll be returning it. Compared to my IPS Dell D2421H, the colors and screen consistency are night and day. The Acer looks washed out and uneven even though I am sitting in one spot. The browser tabs and taskbar looked like they were blurry, and there was this sort of glow to the screen. I love the refresh rate but the difference in colors is night and day. Maybe it's a quality issue and I got a bad unit?

Edit: Just got a Dell G2723HN and wow the colors out of the box blow the piece of garbage Acer out of the water. I got it on eBay for $15 more and even though 1080p at 27" is supposed to be bad, it looks just as vibrant as my D2421H but high refresh rate and way more motion clarity than the trash Acer. Maybe VA panels just aren't the way to go since IPS is on a different level.

I have a Dell P2419H. I did not believe the colors on that screen were bad however, I have noticed a decent amount more detail and color range in some of the games I play on this particular Acer monitor. I certainly don't believe the colors are washed out on this by any means and I do not have a fuzzy icon issue like you are describing. I did however have some of the issues you are describing on an Acer ED320QR that I purchased and subsequently returned.

I just played around some more with some of the settings I think I understand the experience you might be having. When I turn HDR off on the monitor, the picture gets pretty rough - colors are washed out, the screen is not nearly as bright, overall, a pretty bad picture. HDR on vs off is a night and day difference. If I had to run this monitor without HDR on, I agree with your perspective - it would go back to the store next day for sure.
