Just a heads up Malco is discontinuing their locking handle tool line so if you want real quality, it's going to be your last chance for a quality grip that's made in the US.

They took over the vice grip plant local to me a few years ago but it's hard for them to compete when China nearly gives locking pliers away, so they're closing down leaving many out of a job again.

Just food for thought, Rubbermaid has ruined Peterson vice grips unfortunately.

Is there an Amazon Defense Brigade on this site or something? Why all the thumbs down?

You can, in fact, get similarly cheap tools at Harbor Freight. It's true! Not only that, they're cheap all the time, not just during fake sales. And you can get them same day! Should the need arise, you can also warranty exchange them on the spot, no waiting for shipping! These are truly amazing times we live in.

I'm trying this set. Hoping either of these are slightly better than the harbor freight ones.

So you are saying buy your Eagle Grips now, or that these amazon basics are oem Eagle Grips?

Yep, so it comes to this. Going from an age where our dads and grandfathers would trust Craftsman or nothing to now this. Just hurts for me to even consider it.

Saying buy eagle grips now if you want em, these are just random China grips.

To add I've tried other brands like grip rite and only the Malcos exceed what US made Irwin's offered.

They made a hybrid in 1998? Wish I could find a rav4 that generation.

In 40yrs of working I have never had any manufacturer of Vice Grips fail except the ones with plastic on the handles.
