Great, straight forward, oldschool amp that can play clean, crunch, and has built in reverb. Nice choice for someone that needs a bedroom amp or something to mic for recording.

Back in my day you weren't buying any Marshall for $140. Everyone in the neighborhood had a cheap Peavey, lol. Get off my lawn. Great time to be a guitar player.

They'd have to pay me $140 to take it, not the other way around 😂

This is a Marshall in name only.

The mg series has been panned since my serious playing days in the mid 2000s.

Another $50 gets you that 15 watt tube combo from monoprice. Absolutely worth it.

i love marshall too but this is really low end and theres much better competition at this price. line 6, peavey and fender offer better choices in the sub $150 amps if you ask me. high end marshalls are where its at.

this price point was to make it affordable for those who want the name without all the luxury that normally come in your other marshalls.

ive owned this and it was really sub par experience and amp. low choice of effects.

i sold it and got a fender mustang which is much better in every way, but it was also produced years later, and improved on some of the marshall designs.

Every 15w x 8" solid state without extras such as built in effects are all kinda the same.

Do you feel the MG506 or 306 are bad choices also? I picked up my guitar for the first time in over 20 years and always wanted that Marshall sound. For now I'm using my ancient Peavy150 with a modeler pedal.
Would one of those MG's work well, or is that Monoprice tube amp a better sound? Can it give that metal sound without a pedal as the Marshall can?

Sorry for all the questions, but finally saw a Marshall on here and your comment is giving me hesitation.

Is this primarily meant for guitars or will it work well for stand-up comedy and story telling open mics?

it doesn't handle distortion well from mid volume on up. im not the only one on here advising against as well.

im not saying don't buy it. but im giving my point of view as someone who wanted to love this product and was expecting the marshall quality and tone that brought fame to the name. i hate being wrong and not ending up with an iconic premiere brand but sometimes, the other choices are the more logical and pragmatic choices.

you can find more in depth sound anaylsis reviews on youtube but in essence, if you can suck up that pride of having a marshall product - please do this time. i also really really wanted the marshall battery amp but that too is a product that falls well behind its competitors. that battery amp is just bad in general but who can resist that classic design and appeal. i know im a sucker. just not this time.

These are not the amps you're looking for. Starwars

Cut another yard and....
($50 to $250!) Ref: Angi. So, half a yard?...

Marshall used DSL combos's are about $500 if you wish. May need some $modify help though.
