Bottom is falling out the the 6700 series Radeon. Just two months ago these were in the $370 range, that a $80 drop in two months.

Will a corsair VS 500 watt psu be enough to run this card with an i5 10400, 32 gb DDR4 3200, Samsung evo 970 M.2, Seagate HDD, and a few fans?

Possibly, especially if slightly undervolted, but don't cheap out on a power supply. It's unwise to have a large investment sitting atop a liability. Even if it can handle the power consumption, power spikes (which occur) could precipitate a failure, and running a PSU near maximum handling for long periods is ill advised, even with high grade components. Don't way over buy, but don't cut it close either.

If your PSU fails under load, it COULD damage your other components, or worse.

* Also, unplug your system when there's a storm. Surge protectors, even good ones, are not a guarantee against loss, and even the best will not work if a lightning strike is near enough/surge significant enough. Unplugging it is the only protection.

The system was built a couple years ago and already has that psu in it. When I built it I put a 780ti in it and had some lockups and glitches at random times. But since my brother is a heavy gamer and gave it to me for free, I'm not sure if it was the card or psu. So I swapped it out for another card he gave me, a Quadro K4200.

Anyhow, I only game for a couple hours 3-4 times a week. The system is connected to a UBS battery backup.

Sapphire suggests 600W minimum power supply.

Should be fine at one point I was running a 3060 ti, i5 12600k, two nvme drives, 1 sata drive, and 4 fans on a phanteks 550w PSU with no issues. I use this PSU calculator when I'm unsure https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator

The Sapphire website lists the 6700 @ 220 watts and suggests a minimum 650 psu. And the 6700XT @ 230 watts with a minimum 650 psu.

I used that calculator you linked and it didn't have the 6700 non xt listed so I input the 6700XT and it said Load Wattage: 395 W and Recommended PSU Wattage: 445 W.

I guess I could just get the 6650XT since it's only 176 watts and recommends a 500 watt psu. It's weird because the AMD site lists the 6700 non xt as only 175 watts. I guess Sapphire upped the juice on their cards.

If you don't already have a whole house surge protector installed on your circuit breaker panel then it seems a but foolish to overspend on a computer power supply. The bar is so high now for level of circuit protection one can expect on very reasonably priced PSU today it's doubtful there is much added by going to a high priced PSU. After whole house surge protector first, then UPS second. That is separate from the question of undersizing the PSU.

Yea it's only the XfX 6700 that uses the lower 170w tdp while still requiring 2 8 pins lol, the Sapphire only requires 1 8 pin for the up to 220w.

AMD 6xxx series is kind of confusing. This card is actually pretty similar to the RX 6600 XT in terms of performance and it's probably slower than the 6650 XT. I'm all for giving customers choice, but is it really necessary to have 12 different 6xxx series graphics cards?

There are 2 6700 series, this one the 10gb 6700 and the 12gb 6700xt. This one has been hovering around $300-320 for a long time (they were not $370 2 months ago). Some of the 6700xt were and continue to list for $375 ish with sales going all the way down to $310.

Basically what you said is true, but of the 6700xt, not the 6700.

This card is faster than a 6650xt.
It goes 6400>6500xt>6600>6600xt>6650xt>6700>6700xt

You are quite right of course, this card is just the 6700 not the 6700 XT. Thanks for pointing that out.

Maybe not. [userbenchmark.com]

If you look at the specs for the two cards, you'll see that the 6650 XT has faster clocks, but smaller amounts of memory and bandwidth. My guess is that the 6650 XT performs better at lower resolutions and the 6700 performs better at higher resolutions.

The 6650 XT is a speed-binned/overclocked version of the 6600 XT.

userbenchmarks is run by retarded fanboys. They once said a core i3 is faster than a core i9. This website is a newbie trap, avoid at all cost.
