So.. that was a turn off point for me.. but it has season pass 1, 2, and 3. They nickel and dime for each of the season pass and they include 3-4 characters. The marketing ploy is undesirable as I believe dlc should be unimportant consumables. Characters just shouldn't be something they add later.

Anyways another point is this game is at its end of life so u would need to buy the other 2 addons if u buy the deluxe edition (probably not any more to be made). Those are on "sale" and are like $5ish and $13ish. Whether they add more is still in the air. I'm surprised they don't do a "definitive " edition for everything which is sad bc the player base is still small.

SNK also does KOF and the greed on dlc is evident. I know they need money but the dlc has been one reason I walked away from being a serious gamer. Almost to the point where I believe they withhold characters purposely so they can charge u later when they probably had it done. CEO like namco and activision have made millions if not billions using this marketing technique bc non-gamers executives know that we will pay more than the one off payment. Again, my headache is that dlc should only be optional things unimportant.. but not critical things. In fighting games characters are critical. Namco is SO guilty of greed marketing of editions. They need to offer discounts on edition upgrades rather than make players repurchase the game which happened to me. I owned deluxe edition which shorted a few season pass, dlc individually cost more than just rebuying definitive edition which had all. If they gave an UPGRADE edition that would have been consumer friendly. This is where there needs oversight by law bc it kinda close to scalping when they don't offer upgrade editions. It's video games so will never be scrutinized.

But if u buy deluxe + season 2 + season 3 it's under $30 which is reasonable. I predict no more season pass at this stage due to timing of the game and the logistics for the economics would not make sense to do any more.

But you still won't get 'Mina' or 'Sogetsu' so note that even with all the season pass available u will be missing 2 characters who are each $5.99. It is a cool game though But SNK is run by an eastern country. I know politics should not be involved but it sort of is.. I'm not here to cast opinion just laying facts.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I am 47, and remember playing SS on my Sega Genesis back in college. One of the hard parts about gaming today is DLC, as you stated. I was excited when I saw your post about the price of this game, but when I started looking at the Season passes, I was instantly turned off. It's just a model based on greed and screwing the gamer out of his money.
