yeah, for gaming, i already bought rx 6750 xt when it was on sale

alright, i will buy the 7700x combo then for $370.

thanks.
Personally would have went with the 7900x combo mainly because the MOBO in that combo is far better than the glitchy mess of a mobo that comes with the 7700x. Plus 3 NVME slots is wild when nvme prices are dropping left and right.

thank you for your suggestion. how many years will amd use their current plafform for the cpu? i understand the lg 1700 only last 3 gen, 12, 13, and 14, so you are suggesting the amd will go at least 4 years or more using the same socket?

Thanks.
I dont think so for Intel 14th gen. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp....ed-roadmap

How much money will people spend on gas, driving to microcenter to save money on this combo?

My son is looking to build a new gaming rig to replace his i5 10th gen (Dell low end gaming PC). He has an RTX3060 already. Will all of the components from his i5 swap over? Most concerned about the graphics card. But can he move over his system NVMe drive and will windows (Dell load) come up and work? Or is this license keyed to the processor? He doesn't mind doing a Dell system reload if it will work. Also can we use the Dell case (XPS 8940) or does he need a new one?

Got the sam's mother board cpu combo for $269 some 6 ago with 16gb ddr5 for $59. So this is not exactly a deal in my opinion at this price.

He will need a new case at a minimum. Search google about Windows transferring with CPU and MB swap. Reportedly if it is up to date on the current versions it will transfer easily.

saw that too but individually the cpu/mobo/ram appear to be in stock, does anyone know if you can assemble the bundle in store for this price?

To be honest the only two parts that are guaranteed to transfer over are the storage and graphics card. Everything else is most likely DELL proprietary parts. That would mean he'd still need a PC case and power supply.

Thanks!

Yeah I checked seems it really is a hassle to transfer OEM licenses says it requires a call to MS. F that. I found a windows 10 pro for $29 so cheap enough to just buy a new license.

Can you recommend a case/power supply for this? Looking at all the extras that are needed is this really worth buying piecemeal? We can transfer over the drive and the video card. Not sure the memory is compatible but I guess you don't need more than 32GB? I assume the old Dell (what will be left) is near worthless?
