They said in the chat that only an AMEX or a Micro Center Insider Credit Card can refund the difference online. Since I used VISA, I need to go to the store to get the difference+tax.
Did you try calling? I didn't do chat, but called the store I bought from.
The combo is showing OOS at the Denver store. However, they have plenty of the MB and CPU in stock and it's the RAM that is seemingly out of stock....
BUT...
There are currently (39) OPEN BOX G.Skill Flare X5 RAM kits. That seems... suspicious. Did the store mark all of them as "Open box" to keep the combo from being available? There are a couple of combos this 32GB kit would normally come with that are basically OOS because of this.
Kinda weird. I'd probably be on this if I could. Microcenter is just saving me from myself.
They did the same thing at the Cambridge store, 28 out of box ram. They have 25+ in stock of the mobos and processors.

Dallas is the same situation, 48 open box. They have been included in combos for months, so makes sense there would be a lot, I don't think it's anything nefarious. If it comes back in stock, I'll buy this combo instantly.
What video card are you running for video production? Nearly all the video card discussion here is about gaming which I don't care about.
I'm using a 3070ti. Not the best because it only has 8gb vram but I got a deal on it at the time. I think generally most modern cards will work great. The higher the VRAM the better. The 3060 (non ti) is a good option with 12gb ram.
What I find interesting is that the store is full of returned AM5 Motherboards, especially this one ASUS B650E-F ROG STRIX GAMING WIFI. I asked one of the people working there, he gave me a bs vanilla answer.
Check this out:
- 15 Open box ASUS B650E-F out of total 21 Open Box AM5 mobos in Houston.
- No open box AM5 CPUs!
What's the deal, can anyone make an educated guess?

Paid 599 +tax on the first of the month. have 2 more days to get the price match. amazing deal if I get back 128$ + tax. just need to go to the store which is 2hrs away one way. not sure if it is worth the 4hr drive. (used a Master card so can't adjust over the phone, only Amex and store cards can do)

Agree with this very much. Lotsa video editor amateurs go overkill on GPUs that were designed for maximizing frame rates on 3D game rendering, but seasoned folks know that Adobe's slacker coding is the limiting valve on GPU performance - VRAM is the only thing we can control, and there's never enough (most plug-in crashes are caused by not enough VRAM). Anything past a budget 3060 with 12GB VRAM provides no pertaining benefit.

Great deal. Free money/parts upgrade if you think about it.
