I got 7900x but want to switch to this and save on my E bills!
Highly recommended!!

Thought there would be a significant difference with the X, but I guess not.
Also I heard that there is a 10% overclock boost on the MSI boards? Is that only on the 650 boards?
You can essentially turn the 7900x into a 7900 by just limiting your power in BIOS.
You can save a ton of power while keeping performance high with both AMD and Intel chips by limiting the power in BIOS, you dont need to buy one that comes from the factory with that already forced.
I don't think if you reduce the power to 7900X to be 65W, you can get same performance as 7900.

I have an MSI board (the b650i) and i can tell u they removed the 10% boost with the latest bios. It was in response to the whole soc vcore issue. There used to be a PBO enhancement 1/2/3 option in bios that i no longer see with the latest update. i cant speak for other boards but i would imagine they took a similar stance on all others since the new bios.....at least for now.

So far I have both my 7950X and 7900X on Eco Mode @ 105 W. What further steps can I do to improve heat/energy?

FWIW, even though it affected a small audience, MOBO mfgs had new BIOS updates out within days of the initial reports.
Admittedly, I don't know specifics about the issue/solution, and I won't shill (for the fact that it happened in the first place), but at least it was recognized and was/is being remedied.
And don't even get me started on the (presumed) price mistake from 2 days ago when the 7900x combo dropped to sub $450 for a few hours!!!
If only the nearest Micro Center wasn't 5 hours away. I'll tell you this though: if they weren't "1 per customer", I WOULD have made that trip!
