I'm new to outdoor hue. These low voltage or is that for another product?

That's another product. These are standard outdoor screw-in flood lights. Been very happy with these on the driveway and a workshop. No personal experience with the low-voltage.

Good deal. Wish they made the flood light in color too. That would be a homerun product.

Web page indicates these are variable color temp, but it does not appear to be the case.

There is that one spot in the specs they say that, but these are labeled and described as just "White", which in Hue parlance means not tunable (that would be "White Ambiance"). In this case, these are specifically labelled as "Bright White", which is 3000K. I am not aware of any "White Ambiance" PAR 38 bulbs from Hue. Which is unfortunate.

Im new to Hue as well. Obviously this won't light up if someone accidentally turns off the patio light switch but how reliably do they "reconnect" with the hub /controller once you flip that switch back on? (I dont want to deal with constant re-linking etc)

do they even need a controller or do they connect directly to a phone?

I use these with a Hub, so can't speak to the Bluetooth (phone only) controls. I have these on a schedule, and even incorporated into scenes so that the one that hits the den window turns off when we're watching a movie. Which is to say, nobody ever has a reason to touch the switch. But it is right next to the switch for another light, so it does get flipped. Unlike literally every other smart brand I have tried, the reconnection is immediate. I have never once had a connection/reconnection issue with these or any other Hue lights.

You can even configure what do when the light is turned off and back on, either returning the light to its last on state, or to a specific setting. This way, you can give anyone without app access some degree of control over the lights. A Hue switch or button would be better (but that's another story).

Looks like the flood lights are gone. Both filament lights are still available.

Hue bulbs reconnect pretty much instantly once power is restored to them. If you're used to entry-level wifi smart bulbs, hue is a miracle.
