I personally have not bought a used drone before, but reading reviews, if the drone is still bound to previous owner's DJI account, you will not be able to unbind it and Best Buy nor DJI will be able to help. Something to keep in mind if you buy refurb or used DJI drone.

absolutely if the drone is bound and the owner is (for example deceased) then dji will not unbound it and neither will best buy. your only recourse is to seek a return whether it's thru best buy or your credit card because that particular drone is a brick until this gets released. buyers should check for this right away.

otherwise a great drone and now, the mini 3 pro (not the mini 3) will fly using the dji goggles and motion controller (check with dji for details).

I personally have not bought a used drone before, but reading reviews, if the drone is still bound to previous owner's DJI account, you will not be able to unbind it and Best Buy nor DJI will be able to help. Something to keep in mind if you buy refurb or used DJI drone.

Also they released the SDK for the 3 and 3 Pro a few weeks ago so it can be used for photogrammetry. Must be on Android and standard controller though.

Unfortunately, besides the issue with the drone being tied to the previous owner, the BestBuy refurbished drones are being delivered damaged. already had to return 2x drones, both damaged in the same camera location. It appears the drone easily breaks in that area.

Went digging online and thru the Q&A section for DJI refurb items on Best Buy and nobody addressed that. The answer may be 'no'.

DJI Refresh Care can almost always be purchased after the initial first activation period expires but it's a manual process via support and you'll need to jump through some hoops to show that the drone is fully functional and undamaged.

But imo DJI care is a total ripoff, especially if you're already buying the drone at a significant discount. After you take in to consideration the up front cost and then the fees you have to pay to actually get anything replaced you're not saving much at all.

Dont buy used from best buy, I bought an Air 2s and it came with broken propellers, was obviously not refurbished in any way. But the return in store was easy. No questions asked

Not so great of a deal, since you'll need to spend $200 for 2 more batteries and a charger which will only be less than $100 cheaper than buying new from Costco. Also, add the risk of getting a drone bound to an existing account and not being eligable for DJI Care.

I bought a used laptop that was carefully gone over by their GeekSquad. I couldn't use it because I didn't know the previous owner's password. Since GeekSquad couldn't either, their careful check was pure fraud. I haven't bought from BB since.

You can use the DJI RC (probably the N1 controller also). Put your drone in the air with the controller like you would normally fly. While in the air turn on your goggles 2. Bingo you got feed in the goggles and using a controller.

I don't understand why dji wont unbind and locks the drone in permanently, or why they dont have some way to track or know... Especially if these are being explicitly sold as refurbed. Anyone have insight to this? Seems like a total PITA

Would be in for one if it had the RC controller... pulling my phone out and attaching it to my mini 2 controller every time I fly gets old.
