They charge $600 to come out and fix it though. The part is under warranty and not the refrigerator. Currently have this issue with an lg. after they fix it, they only guarantee the new compressor for 90days.

If you ever owned a jeep you'd know. Spending more of its life at the shop than your own garage.

Costco includes the following with purchase
Delivery & Installation
Haul Away
Basic installation Parts included
2 Year warranty

I just had a fridge delivered today from costco and can confirm they took away old fridge, included basic water line and filter. Did not have them hook up water line as the location of the new fridge has no water hookup

I was thinking more of population supply and demand but if you're into conspiracy theories than that works too.

No possibility of hacking the deal. Since you paid $0 for the tv, you will get $0. If you look at your receipt, they deduct the full price of the "free" item, they do not prorate the cost between the items
You absolutley can hack this deal, it is not a buy a refrigerator get a free TV. You are combining spend more get more and the costco direct promo. Either discount would be pro rated if one of the items was returned.

Not planning to do this, but curious in case TV is not great.

I am sure there are precedents for this. Would Costco just pro-rate the discounts or remove all extra discounts that applied on account of adding on a TV purchase?

I can imagine 3 scenarios below (assumes a $1750 refrigerator and a $400 TV).

Total cost before discount: $2150
Total cost after discounts (400 + 200 + 100) = $1450

Return TV Scenario 1: Remove all additional discounts.
Total cost for refrigerator only $1350.
(1450 Total Paid - 400 for TV return + 300 Discount Removed).

Return TV Scenario 2: Pro-rate entire discount 700 * (400 / 2150) = 130.
Total cost for refrigerator only: $1,180
(1450 Total Paid - 400 for TV return + 130 Discount Removed).

Return TV Scenario 3: Pro-rate only additional discount 300 * (400 / 2150) = 56.
Total cost for refrigerator only: $1,106
(1450 Total Paid - 400 for TV return + 56 Discount Removed).

IMO it has always been fairly proportionate , if you bought two $1000 items and the discount was $600 off $2000 but you returned one, each item was $700.

I have never had to return something under a scenario as complicated as this one but I will PM you the breakdown of discounts under my order which was for 5 tv's. There were 21 promo codes listed. I was expecting 10 (each of the two promotions resulting in one promo code.

If you have a lot of free time you could do the math , but I don't intend on returning anything from mine so I'll leave that to you! 😂

Yes I called yesterday I had a 2017 model which has the bad compressor. I called lg they said the refrigerator is not under warranty even though the part has a 10 yr warranty. For lg to come out it will cost $550 plus tax and they cover any fixes. Any new part is only guaranteed for 90 days so if something goes wrong again which seems like a big possibility even according to pseg. Then you'll be paying again
Just replace it yourself?

You must fix them yourself. My son has one, and he is working on it all the time. Just recently, he had to have it towed to the dealer, because of a plastic part used on the engine developed a coolant leak. $1600 bill.

The compressor never fails on these appliances, it's a simple piece of equipment. It's all the electronics and other circuit boards that fail.

So what's the most reliable brand? I know Samsung is usually a no.
There is no such thing as a 'reliable brand' of appliance anymore. For every person who says X is reliable, don't buy Y, I can find someone else who says Y is reliable, don't buy X.

When it comes to appliances, what I've learned from appliance repair techs is for reliability purposes, less is more. The 'premium' versions of these appliances charge a lot of money for a bunch of features, many of which are gimmicks. These features just create more failure points. You're not buying a more reliable product by spending more because the $3000 model has the same basic parts as the $1200 model.

One of the biggest failure points is the ice maker. Apparently ice makers in the fridge portion are a failure point waiting to happen. I'm one of the many many Samsung fridge owners who had persistent ice maker issues. By the 5 year mark I had an ice machine on my counter and a chest freezer in my garage because my ice maker froze up weekly and my freezer stopped working... on a $3500 fridge. I since moved into a new house and as much as I like French door fridges, my current 10+ year old Whirlpool side-by-side is probably my favorite yet. It's a solid product and I don't miss a single 'feature' from that Samsung.

If I had any major issues with my 2015, I certainly would not have purchased another in 2021. Whether it's luck or not, I'm very happy with my Jeep. Will I buy another one? Who knows lol

Well, I don't need any of these things.

The best discount stack I've found is 2x Samsung Microwaves + 2x Samsung Electric Ranges for $1493 pre-tax; this is after -400 for four items, -600 for over 2k, and -10% for four qualifying Samsung purchases. Adding a fifth item at these prices seems less beneficial than just breaking a four/five item order into two separate purchases.

Had a Jeep Wrangler for 5 years, it was extremely reliable. Sold it back to the dealership for $4k less than I bought it for once I needed a truck. The Wrangler Rubicon is hands down the best vehicle for off-roading in factory form and has crazy resale value.
