Not a pretentious know it all, but at this size 1440 really does make a big difference over 1080.

The 1440 version has been on sale for 300 a couple times. For 65.00 more you can get a 1440 msi that's 100hz right now. 1440 will make a difference.

Seller is "Walt's TV", I assume that's not Walmart?

At any rate, personally, I find the vertical resolution of 1080 too limiting, especially at this size.

I'd get a higher resolution. The PPI (pixels per inch) of this monitor will make text look pretty rough (ie. blurry). You want 1440p at this size. 4k would be even better, but you're looking at a higher price for that.

Before all the comments come in about a 34 inch 1080p monitor this is ultrawide which means it's equivalent to a 27 inch normal aspect ratio 1080p monitor.

It's usable but IMO you want 1440p for 27 normal/34 ultrawide.

FYI, Walmart page say this is actually the newer 34WQ650 model which supports USB-C, 100Hz refresh, and is brighter than the 34WK650 listed in OPs description.

Would this be okay for a excel sheet? Or two Microsoft word document screens next to one another? I'm not planning on gaming or watching movies/videos. Just want to make sure I could see all the numbers and letters clearly.

Sure, you don't need more than 1080p for general task but if you're editing a photo or video then at least 1440p for this wide size of monitor is ideal.

We're so spoiled I love it. I was doing working on spreadsheets with a maybe 480p 15" back in the day, now my laptop needs a retina display...gotta love first world technology.

In looking for the deal you mentioned, I found 2 msi 34" 1440p VA panel for sale. Good price for sure, however I prefer ips over VA in certain scenarios: reading text, widescreen panels (due to reduced viewing angles inherent to VA), and most office work to reduce eye strain. https://history-computer.com/va-v...A%20panels. (edit: to be clear, I think both these deals aren't best in a WFH environment. If you can wait for an ips 1440x3440, that'd be awesome 🤓. if gaming, the MSI one seems to be better cuz higher refresh rate AND more importantly higher resolution. https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/t/16602188)
