Bought a similar mount and installed it recently. Check where your studs are located vs the center of the TV. These mounts are not adjustable left to right so ideally, the 16" stud spacing is arranged where the center lines up with the center of your TV. That was not the case for me and made the install much more difficult.
@romie32, this bought us 8" of lateral movement. Our fireplace stud is bang in the center of the fireplace. Holding up well.

MD Mounting Dream Universal TV Wall Mount Extension Bracket for TV Wall Plate, Fitting 16" - 24" Wood Stud and Easy Centering TV in Position, Max Loading Capacity of 154 LBS MD5232 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXW6K87
Could install a couple 2x4 horizontal across then mount to new studs tv should hide them but would add 1.5" from wall.

I can't use this but it's good to note that in the recommended products below it shows the newer version is now available for 159.99 that is spring assisted. I would prefer spring assisted.

This model has a piston that helps with the movement. It's not super hard to move up and down - we are just always really careful with it since we have our TV and soundbar mounted to the rig and don't want to torque it against the wall the wrong way.

Seems like a good price for a mount with a pull down function. Trying to think of some useful situations for that, where you might want to tuck it up to be out of the way

Great price for an excellent mount. Once you adjust it properly, it is easy to move up and down.

May I ask what you did to resolve this? I am in the same situation and clueless.

This is a great deal and I wish I didn't just install mine above my fireplace. I would have preferred this one.

Good advice - for lighter TV single-stud makes life easier (as long as you're using lag bolts).

The common one these days is basically a wide, sliding plate that works for everyone - kinda ugly because you can't hide it - but it's a black piece of metal behind a TV so, big deal Big Grin

The most common use I've seen for this type of thing is when someone mounts a TV above a fireplace and then they want to pull it down to the proper height for viewing.

I have this and for anyone planning on mounting their TV over their mantle, this should be required.
I have the older version of this from Monoprice and it makes watching TV so much better since I can have it closer to eye level and definitely useful for the sound bar too (if you are using the built in speakers on your TV, it's soooo worth it to even get a cheap soundbar. It's a world of difference)

This is a great price!
Also, if you want to install a 75" on here, you should be able to as long as it weighs less than ~65lb and has VESA mount smaller or equal to 600 x 500 so the LG C2 77" OLED will still be great on this mount.

Mount 1x4s or 2x4s horizontally screwing into 2 or more studs. Figure out a length that will put the mount where you need it, cut, mount, and hang the TV. 1x will keep the TV closer to the wall and most likely be less noticable overall. If you're feeling froggy you can use toggle bolts instead and mount threw the drywall. If you don't have 1/2" or 5/8 sheetrock I would very strongly suggest against that, and if you do have thick walls I still suggest against it. But it's an option.

It ain't "full motion" if it doesn't support portrait mode.
