Curious how this compares to the comparable Samsung version (not the NEO I would assume, but more the CRG9, correct?)

Basic math would show it is 108ppi. (Aspect ratio is 3.56:1, not 16:9)

The specs page shows it does 85W via USBC. That will charge the highest level MBP16 without issue.

This stacks up to the original CRG9, and even then, it doesn't stack up well. The 60hz is really a deal breaker here for most people, versus 120hz on the Samsung. I myself went the path of CRG9 to now the Neo Odyssey; skipped the mid cycle Odyssey G9 refresh. LOVE these monitors. Have also had various 34-37" UW in-between that, but nothing tops these 49" behemoths, just so much productivity to work with.

This price also isn't great, considering we've had several deals on CRG9, Odyssey G9, and even some Neo Odyssey deals. CRG9 comes up at this price frequently, Odyssey G9 has been within this ballpark too, sub $1k, and even the Neo Odyssey saw a splash down to like $1,200 at one point. Samsung's main store likes to do some crazy discounts at times, then you stack that with EPP, and 10% remorse discount = Super Slick Deal.

Just my two cents, having been in the Ultrawide game for a while now.

I have the Dark Matter monitor and its definitely a better buy compared to this LG.
Ultimately it depends on what your trying to do with this monitor, for a home office this one will do just fine but if your looking for gaming i would opt for the Dark Matter.
you can compare the specs between the two but refresh rate stands out 120 vs 60. Response time is 4ms vs 5 ms both in favor of the Dark Matter

I got my Dark Matter for about the same price as Costco when it was released and i can say I'm happy with it. I use it mainly for Work and casual gaming.
