Do some searching on youtube for hexclad and you may not want hexclad. Essentially, they cut in that hex pattern in, apply the nonstick and then polish the nonstick coating off of the high spots. This makes it not actually nonstick. America's Test Kitchen did a test on hexclad and it failed miserably for nonstick. I have no dog in this fight, but was originally interested in hexclad and changed my mind.

I've had the version of this that's completely coated for 2 years now and they hold up VERY well. Probably my favorite pan set I've ever owned. It looks like they'll be good to go for years to come. Seriously considering the stainless set.

My only warning is don't stack these pans- the edges tend to get small scratches with they come into contact with each other.

1000% recommended!

I wonder how well this holds up against Hexclad in a comparison. Hexclad is so darn expensive even with their mother days sale going on right now.

Just bought some pans with neverstick last month and so far,100% impressed. Seems very very durable compared to all the other coatings I've eaten since they all scratch off easily.

YMMV and this is personal opinion, but I avoid sets with 8" skillets. It has an 8" skillet (fry pan) and a 10 1/4" skillet as well as a 1.5qt saucepan. I find all three of those sizes to be almost useless. I guess an 8" skillet is good if you're making a couple of sunny side up eggs or something, but I've always found that "too big" is way better than "too small". My 12" skillet gets the most use and my 2 1/2 or 3 qt saucepan gets the most use.

To me, these smaller sized cookware pieces are like the tiny little rubbermaid containers that come in sets... almost useless. Again, ymmv.

Finally, according to America's Test Kitchen, the nonstick coatings (teflon and such) are some sort of plastic/polymer which will melt at the temperatures that the mfg says are "safe" (this one is 500 degrees).

Do I have a better set to offer at a similar price? No. I'm not arguing the deal, but rather the usefulness of the set.

Just buy the pans/pots individually per the size you need when they're on sale.

better yet just get one frying pan, that's all you need for ns. not sure why anyone would ever buy a full set.

Interesting, I know Gordon Ramsey is their spokes person so interesting he would get behind a product that failed like that.

If you want same interior but hard anodised exterior, Sam's Club has couple of 14 piece sets on sale for 199-219$.

https://www.samsclub.com/sams/sho...ware%20Set

https://www.samsclub.com/sams/sho...ware%20Set

Also check your local clubs, it did go on huge clearance at several locations. This is how I know of these sets because I was tracking down the Member's Mark stainless steel set for 99$ clearance price in club and these sets were always kept there in the same isle location. I wasn't interested in these else they would have made a great buy then.

Hope it helps.

For those worried about Teflon chemical contamination, this set is made without PFOA. Also, if you use a gas stovetop, imo the POT handle get a bit hot for comfort. When I changed to an electric stove they were perfect.

Hexclad sticks when you cook eggs without fat - that is the Test Kitchen test process. They essentially cook 50 eggs in a dry pan until the eggs stick or they cook all 50 eggs. Teflon coated pans from companies like OXO can pass that test...but the coating wears off over time (and gets worn quicker by using dishwasher and/or metal utensils).

People that have been cooking on T-Fal for the past 30 years and limit fat use loathe Hexclad because of the sticking. But those that have no problem putting a little oil or butter in the pan, find good results from them.
