I want to buy 2 new ipad pros but want to trade in my old ones and don't see an option.
Thanks in advance
FWIW if you travel any significant amount you'd get better value (potentially MUCH better) using the points by transferring them to airline/hotel partners than using them for this deal.

I assume they mean that the transfer to other airlines or hotels just becomes the new points with whatever value they have. The 25% more when redeemed for fights is through the ultimate rewards booking? The two values you mentioned look to be the same but point values post-transfer through the CSR/CSP might have different values.
I haven't looked into it myself. We just have always transferred to partner airlines

Exactly.
With the portal, or this apple deal, you're only getting 1.25 cents per point cash replacement value (or 1.5 cents if you have a CSR).
Transferring points to Hyatt will routinely get you ~2 cents or more per point, and transferring to airlines will frequently get similar values in coach, 4-6 cents a point in business, and even higher values in first.
