With the portal, or this apple deal, you're only getting 1.25 cents per point cash replacement value (or 1.5 cents if you have a CSR).
Transferring points to Hyatt will routinely get you ~2 cents or more per point, and transferring to airlines will frequently get similar values in coach, 4-6 cents a point in business, and even higher values in first.
Generally just googling "best use of points to X business class" where X is where you want to travel will turn up multiple links from the usual suspects (TPG, upgradedpoints, millionmilesecrets, etc).
Couple recentish examples from me--- ~$750 plus 85,000 ANA points (though this is an amex transfer if you want to do it for 85k there's slightly higher cost partner options via chase) for roundtrip business class to japan on ANA, which is a $7000 cash fare ticket so over 7 cents a point.... and 144k Singapore miles (chase, amex, and more can do this) plus $135 fees for roundtrip business JFK to Frankfurt, a roughly $6000 cash fare so about 4.2 cents per point.
Considering I just drove off with my new iPad Air on my car roof last week, I'm in the market for a new one 😆
FYI this iPad Air appears to be the 2022 model and not the 2020 that we more commonly see on SD. It's a pretty damn good deal.
Absolutely worth it not only your points are worth a lot more but extra benefits like $300 yearly travel credit ( if apply to you and you use them ) dash pass plus monthly credit , instacart+ membership and monthly credit , unlimited priority pass visits along with 3 guest each visit to name few , all of these pay the yearly fee themselves
yes you should be able to, you'll just have to call to cancel. The number should be in the order details.

Thanks! I called yesterday and was able to cancel it seems as the points are back in my UR pool again.
Used 600K points to cover almost all of a 10 day Hawaii vacation for an east coast family of 4
You may be able to buy Apple in its entirely with that.
Exactly, this is the way to go, booked a $7300 flight for 67k points and a $1800 flight for 34k points recently
And I don't get the "gamble" part - the website shows exactly the points you'll use and how much it's worth and how much you save. Am I missing something?
