Forget the vacuum. This deal should be emphasizing the dust separator. This is the 1st time it's been hackable.

Purpose of dust separator? Particles like drywall dust not destroying vacuum?

At these prices, I don't even need to hack it. I'm keeping both.

Is the debris and collector something you would use all the time with the vacuum?

thanks op. got one at $68.
A dust separator pre filters dust so the heavy debris fall in the separator and anything that floats makes its way to the actual vacuum.
as a reference, I made a dust separator out of a homer bucket and a tornado bucket opening attachment. The Tornado was $30 and homer bucket was $5 that was 10 years ago. So at $68 today, this is a legit deal.

Don't see an option to add the tool from the drop down list. Under Customers Also Viewed, there is a link to the combo for the same price, it seems. Cart doesn't show the hacked prices for the separate units. Is this the same deal?https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwa.../336306184

The item you posted is different since yours includes a battery and the posted deal doesn't.

Follow the deal link to add the item to your shopping cart, then View the shopping cart. Above the pic of the item is a light blue bar that says, "Add an eligible item For Free with Purchase!" Click on that link. The page that it takes you to has a, "Shop This Offer" link under the Free Gift with Purchase area. Click on that link and add the only item you can get for free, the Dust Separator.
There might be an easier way to get the deal but I couldn't find it. LOL

depends what you are using it for.
For something like drywalling, its nice because your big pieces end up in the separator, while the actual dust gets bagged, meaning your bags last longer, and arguably perform better by not having a bunch of large pieces of debris in it.
If you are hooking it up to a saw, or a sander, or the like, it isn't going to really do anything for you.
