My grandfather wore this exact watch for years. He spent every day of his retirement helping people do things like mow lawns, install fences, build gates… wore this watch through all of it and the band never gave out. The gold on the band can fade, and the stretch mechanism sometimes catches an arm hair when you slide it off , but it's nothing that's unforgivable. The band's not too stiff but also won't fall off your hand. It's a good one.

As a Timex fan, I think their cheaper watches are generally a good value, but they have lots of similar 30m brass case models in the $30-40 range. If you like the style go for it, but if its not for you, or if 35mm is too small, there is the versitile Weekender, more weather ready Expedition Scout, Easy Reader, etc. within a few bucks of this price most of the time.

The stretch bands won't work for people with thin wrist (around 120lb). There is no way to take out some links.
