The MF654Cdw model is $20 more and twice the print resolution 1200x1200 vs 600x600.
I am not sure what other differences there are.

There might not be generic toner available for this model as it looks like it uses a different cartridge, 067.

Love this printer. You can set it up to save directly to a shared folder, which is incredibly convenient.

The only downside that I found after I bought it was that it doesn't scan duplex. It prints duplex, the ADF works great, but you have to manually flip the page and scan it if there is stuff on the back that you need. Not a huge dealbreaker for home, but probably would be in an office setting.

I got excited when I saw this on Amazon, and came here to post this deal, but WYO_VO4 beat me to it. I've owned this printer for the past two years, and it's a gem. Only one issue: Perhaps my experience was unique, but when I first bought this printer, Canon had to replace it twice.

A similar canon post states that canon gives you annoying popups if using generic. I personally cannot confirm.

I've had this for a couple of years now, using generic toner from Amazon. Never seen any complaint from the printer about that.

Edit: Actually, that would be the 634CDW, in case that is helpful.

I have the 644cdw and use generic toner. It does NOT produce any type of annoying popups. That being said, it doesn't play nice wirelessly with the latest MacOS. Have to constantly delete the printer and re-add it. Works perfectly in Windows. Also, the color quality isn't as good as a Dell Color Laser that I have but that could be the generic toner I bought. Otherwise, it's a good printer and I'd recommend it, especially for Windows.

MF654Cdw is wireless only. I owned a few canons, and having wired definitely helps since they gave me all kinds of issues with wireless not working fair number of times.
