unless I'm misreading it, Best Buy's price of $899 for the S23 Ultra seems to require activation. cheers!
It does, but it doesn't mean anything. You just have to already need to have a plan and it's like do an upgrade, but it's free, and unlocked. You just enter current phone number with provider, then can give the phone to anyone else.
If you have cash and live in a decent sized city you can probably find a s22 ultra in really good condition for $400 to $600 MAX. These things hold up, I really dont understand why ppl buy last gen android stuff NEW. Samsung is pretty good about their repairing manufacturing defects past warranty period as well.

It means A LOT - l along with many others only do pre-paid, hence why we buy our phones outright. So basically this is a post-paid only deal.

Go to best buy page and check it out yourself. The other user is correct. You don't need to sign up for a new line. You can choose existing user and upgrading device to "activate" the new phone with your existing carrier. I just went through the options myself on Best Buy to confirm.

WRONG. You have to be a post paid subscriber. They have you enter in your phone number and 4 digits of ssn so it verifies with the carrier before checkout.

Don't need to shout. I'm not going to waste my time arguing with you. Have a nice day!

My point was not about creating a new line. My point was that you need to be a POST-paid customer of the carriers, which a lot of ppl who buy phones out right are not post paid customers. Read again....

I use visible, so not possible. Deal requires certain carriers
