No, once we potty trained we went to underwear, even for bed. Our reasoning was we didn't want to give them an option to regress to going in their diaper again.
Worked well for our three girls. All of them fully potty trained by age three. We did keep diapers on hand after we started potty training but never used them once they understood what they're supposed to do.
That being said, all kids are different. Just take cues from your child and if they have a problem holding it overnight, or can't hold it long enough to make it to the potty while outside playing or out in public, then use diapers/pull-ups in those situations only.
Good luck!

Do kids need diaper after being potty trained? My little one is 22 months old and getting potty trained. She is about 27 lbs and we have a lot of size 4 in stock. Wondering if I should stock size 5.

Definitly not. Mine wants to wear them once in a blue moon when he sees his little 1.5 year old brother wearing them though. But he knows its just for fun.

My daughter still wears pull-ups overnight. Our pediatrician recommended this since their bladders don't really have the capacity to 'hold it in' overnight until they are around 5.
We also use pull-ups on long car rides are airplanes (she does not like airplane bathrooms).

A few notes:
Potty training isn't a switch flip. There's both poop and pee, and you will likely have regressions.
Many parents switch to pull-ups at that stage. One could argue that they're just glorified diapers, but to my kid it signaled a step in maturity. (Plus, she can put them on herself, hence the name.)
Don't take parenting advice from a forum of cheapskates! There are lots of books out there (including from your local library), and your kid's gonna do what she does anyway.

This seriously depends on the child.
I've known a few children, one of my 6 as well, that need the over night help to keep them dry - even into older children ages.
The important thing to note here is to not shame. But that's it❤️
Definitely didn't mean to change this thread into parenting tips 😀
Appreciate everyone's advice. First-time parents here. I found the advice here at Slickdeal to be practical and match my mindset. Of course, I would be stupid to raise my kid purely based on advice from slickdeals.
Dead deal?!? Well, I guess today is as good as any to start potty training :-P
FWIW, our eldest started wearing pull-ups at night. I learned quickly that pull-ups are NOT = to nighttime diapers. Despite both being put on in the same manner (by the child) and enabling the transition to underwear, the absorbency of nighttime diapers (ninjamas, goodnites, etc) is vastly superior to pull ups. This may not seem to matter, but after you wash pee-wet bedding every day for a week or two, you'll understand that dry sheets while in nighttime diapers = good news :-)
