Thanks. Bought to hook up 8 security cameras for my NAS and wire a few rooms up with direct lines.

POE+ is cool, but SFP in 2023 at $190 is "sus" using my kid's term.

POE - power over ethernet to give power to access points and cameras that are compatible. Looks to have smart switch as well more Administrator settings

I think it's power over Ethernet and spell check changed it.

This might work well with security cameras but less likely with access points that are powered over ethernet. They often require PoE++

On addition 2 x1G SFP Ports is pretty limiting. Given 24 ports, it would be easy to saturate a one gig connection to a nas. The ports might be able to be linked in aggregate for two gig but it would be better to have one or two 10 gig SFP Ports given the size of the switch.

Only the latest and greatest AP's think wifi 6 highest end and wifi 6E require around 50watts just about everything else works perfectly fine on POE+ which provides 30watts. In general unless you looking to buy the latest and greatest and keep the switch for a long time no reason to pay the upcharge for a POE++ switch when a POE Injector++ is around $50-70 for the one offs and that's if its not included with the product you are buying as some companies provide the injectors.

If you are going the injector route (I did) then you can pick up a non poe switch from a server pull for cheap as dirt on ebay.

This appears to be End Of Life.

https://www.netguardstore.com/Netgear-EOL.asp

It is listed oddly as GS324TP-100NAS. However if you click the link, it takes you to the product page.

https://www.netguardstore.com/GS324TP.asp

Which means updates to firmware is not guaranteed in the short term and unlikely in the long term.

Amazon has it for the same price after $71.38 coupon.

Remember network devices need updates as well.

11W idle consumption is pretty good, my Unifi stuff it double or triple that, any only 8 POE ports per switch. Its visible on my bill.

I don't know if I'd trust this - it could be a mistake. There is nothing on Netgear's website indicating this unit is EOL.
