This isn't a good deal compared to multiple 4TB or smaller SSDs adding up to the same siz at least not compared to the best prices on those smaller drives right now. But if you've got a use case where you need a very large amount of fast storage on a single drive, this isn't unreasonable, and there aren't many more cost-effective options.
For instance, if you've got a NAS with a limited amount of bays, and no or limited options for PCIE storage, this can be a good option for silent, fast storage. And there's no particular reason to pay the premium for NVME when, in most home/small-biz cases, your network connection will be the bottleneck rather than the drive.
