Will Uncle Roger approve this wok?
Probably as long as nieces and nephews use plenty of MGSWink AND don't rinse the rice.

I've been eyeing a 14" carbon steel wok from Made In. Is the quality/price difference worth it for occasional use?

man i wish this was at least a 14" wok.
Not a wok expert. Are there particular advantages? How many serving different is a 12.8" versus 14" wok? Why the .8" additiòn? Standard mold template?

Learned something new.

Here are the main differences between a regular cooking pan and a wok:

* **Shape:** A regular cooking pan has a flat bottom, while a wok has a round bottom that is slightly concave. This shape allows the wok to distribute heat more evenly, which is important for stir-frying.
* **Size:** Woks are typically larger than regular cooking pans, which makes them ideal for cooking large meals.
* **Material:** Woks are typically made of carbon steel or cast iron, which are both very durable materials that can withstand high heat. Regular cooking pans can be made of a variety of materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, and non-stick coating.
* **Use:** Woks are ideal for stir-frying, deep-frying, and braising. Regular cooking pans can be used for a variety of cooking tasks, including frying, sauteing, and boiling.

If you are looking for a pan that is specifically designed for stir-frying, then a wok is the best option. However, if you are looking for a pan that can be used for a variety of cooking tasks, then a regular cooking pan is a good choice.

because people who use wok tend to use it for stir frying. and what do asians stir fry the most? veggies, alot of veggies with their noodles. so you would need a big wok to for that.
