This was on Woot a few days ago. Don't recall the selling price. Plus all these dents (design) doesn't it make it hard to use the spatula smoothly? I don't know. I only have cooked on a wok's smooth surface.

I think it's designed that way in order to be able to hold food on the walls of the wok away from the heat.

Similar but don't think it's the same. I bought the one on Woot. It was $14.99. Different brand. Just the wok and lid. No utensils. No "spout" on the wok.

The one from Woot was 13"(nominal. Actually it is 13.25").

Despite the "hammering", it's smooth as glass. Don't expect that to be an issue at all. Lots of woks are like that.

This is the one Woot sold:

FYI this has a nonstick coating. Be aware if you are trying to avoid PFAS/forever chemicals. A pure carbon steel pan (wok or otherwise) is perfectly nonstick after seasoning.

Don't do what one user did... run it in the dishwasher. He/she is wrong in that it definitely shows that it is NOT dishwasher safe. Has the symbol with the line through it.

If you go to Asian restaurants, they don't "wash" their woks.

Like a griddle, High heat and sizzling water is all that is needed to remove the food with a bristle brush like Libman's. No soap is needed whatsoever. If you do want to use soap, consider Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap made of natural oils.

It says natural nonstick which I assume means that they seasoned it at the factory.
That said... China and their oils.

So, I'd wash it thoroughly with Castile soap and heat on HIGH a few times to burn off what's there. Then, I'd re-season with peanut oil and scallions/cabbage, etc.

Where does it say that? Usually you gotta scrub the heck out of carbon steel pans and then burn off all the oil coating they put in at the factory to prevent rusting while it's transported from factory to home

Yah 12 is going to be very limited in what you can hold. I had a 14" and found that too small for a family of 4 (especially for things like fried rice). Ended up getting a 16". Check local restaurant supply store, you can find a carbon steel wok for much cheaper. I bought my 16" for $30 and it was considered the mid range. Cheap can be had for 10-15$.

Metal wok spatula on a textured surface is odd

If Chinese factory, no, they don't season them. You cook with this wok. That's how it get seasoned.

Yup. I own this. The utensils that come with it are junk and so is the lid. Wok itself is good. Releases food well after seasoning. Gets clean without soap

Any cooking surface is non-stick if seasoned correctly. Most people either don't know how or do it incorrectly.
