These are terrible in quality. Mine died right after 1.5 year mark. Costco return policy saved the day for us.

I've had 3 of the 50 pint version and none of them properly drain out of the hose attachment. The bucket fill up no matter what I have tried. Maybe this one is designed better.

A word about sizing a dehumidifier: get the smallest one that can handle the area and amount of moisture. Keeping them running constantly will maintain the humidity level more consistently than a larger one that cycles on and off.

Having it running constantly also keeps the spinny bits in the compressor lubricated and at operating temperature. This helps lifespan. A lot of wear happens on startup when the compressor is cold and the lubricant hasn't had a chance to circulate. The smaller unit will use less power than a larger unit since the motor is smaller and it's avoiding a lot of startup current spikes to get the motor spinning.

I'm not a HVAC pro, just a cheapskate who researched the heck out of HVAC stuff to avoid costs on a major house system and stay comfortable.

What kind of hose are you using? I bought an adapter for mine that has a slight lip and that causes the water to not be able to drain. You need one that has no lip so it can transfer smoothly. My solution was to just prop it up on the opposite side of the hose connection and it drains right. Someday I might replace the connection.

I placed mine on a smart outlet and control it with home assistant with the sensor on the other side of the room. Gives a more uniform humidity as the dehumidifier is not just dehumidifying the space around it and sensing it's space. Dehumidifiers should come with a remote sensor. I do have it turn off but that is because it's so loud and I have our TV near it. It's been running for 3 years like this.

I propped mine up also. I'm using the adapter it came with and a garden hose. It drains properly maybe 1 day a week

Anyone have this one or should I go with the vremi? https://www.menards.com/main/heat...&exp=false
Probably depends on room size, how much moisture you need to extract, and how well you will benefit from the Menards rebate on the Vremi. I got the Vremi for $96 in Nov 2021 direct from their web site and have been very happy with it. Not sure about build quality of the basin because I just hooked up a drain hose, but I like that the exhaust is on the side in the Vremi. I use it in a hobbyist wood shop and this helps avoid problems from dust settling on the dehumidifier and also contributes to the air circulation pattern in the shop.

Thanks. Mine is for a basement. It can leak slightly after a heavy rain and I just can't afford the real fix. It's not finished or anything, but I figured it could help a bit.

I have this one - You need to press the on button. It is loud AF but it works and is cheap.

Do all dehumidifiers blow out a lot of warm air while it's running? Got one for my basement but while running it in the summer time it makes the basement like a sauna
All dehumidifiers are going to exhaust heat. They basically work like air-conditioners which move heat from inside your house to outside. In this case, it's not moving heat outside, it's just exhausting it directly. Keep in mind it's only moving heat, not adding it.

It will potentially raise the temperature of a basement slightly in the area around the dehumidifier, but if it's working properly it will pull humidity out of the air which should make it fell less like a sauna. A few degrees warmer with a significantly lower humidity should be more comfortable than the opposite. If your basement is still humid then you have an outside source of air (poorly sealed) or the dehumidifier is not large enough.
