Could have sworn salt for the size above (not the "deal" but the one in the comments) was $1 or under at Walmart within the last few months... maybe just not "name brand". Is that not the case anymore?

Sea salt is more expensive than regular table salt. I doubt that Sea salt was less than a dollar.
https://www.walmart.com/search?q=morton+salt Table salt, AKA salt or iodized salt is $1.43 currently at Walmart.
