Great price for a tv of this size, but not great if HDR is important to you.

The LG UQ8000 is disappointing for watching HDR movies. It has a low contrast ratio that makes blacks look gray in the dark, and it doesn't have a local dimming feature to improve it either. Highlights don't pop as it has low contrast, and colors don't look vivid for an impactful HDR experience. It doesn't support the HDR10+ or Dolby Vision HDR formats, so it can't take full advantage of most HDR content

Why buy an 86 inch tv if the picture quality stinks? Buy a 65 inch tcl 6 series or Hisense u8h for roughly the same price and get awesome pictures no matter if on movies, games, sports…

Love my 4k UST as well but since my Hisense died I need something better than my 10yo 1080p 70in for the living room

I know I LOVED that tv and it's still sitting on the floor bc I'm not sure how to get rid of it. I have like a dozen 1080p tvs from 42-70in that just won't die smh.

Not everyone cares about the motion in the ocean and puts size over quality.

In certain cases this tv is just fine. Great deal for a TV of this size. In my brothers small basement den every one is going to be looking dead on at this display. Once it's calibrated for the room and lighting it's going to look fine. Every TV doesn't need to be the best speced. I mean I just bought the 48 in oled and it was 899. (I really wanted the 42 but it flat out refuses to go on sale so I'm 'settling' for the 48) and while I absolutely adore it I'm not that much a TV snob to realize there are use cases where this set is probably more than adequate. TV snobs kill me and 9 times out of 10 they don't even have the top of the line TV themselves. The 83 in lg oled or the Sony is as much as 6k. There are plenty of people who don't need or dont care about the bells and whistles of the top of the line specs.

Not to mention that with 5 year coverage if something goes wrong in year 3 whatever set you get as a replacement will be better because high end specs inevitably creep downward as the high end specs get better.

I just don't know what a "bad" tv is ... I game on them all ... Shoooo ... It took me a long time to get off of my 720p 46 inch Vizio 🤷🏾 ♂️ from 2008

TVs don't last long anymore. I had 2 Insignias both died about a year.
I prefer Samsung. This tv has a 5 year warranty.
