Took me 3 days to shred about 20 bankers boxes. This little guy *almost* kicked the bucket but I'm happy it got the job done. I was so frustrated by the end of the paper pile I had that I dumped the last 50 lbs at fed ex for shredding for $1/lb.
All that said this shredder saved me lots of money.
I have a short little story, anecdote if you will, about the folly of a paper shredder. After hearing it, you may think you have wrapped your mind around the totality of my tale, but you have not. You will never understand the depths, layers and intricacies of it. Never. Never ever.. . . . You will commit yourself to immediately forgetting it, but you will always remember. Maybe not today but 6 months from now you will be reminded of this story and you will slowly try to unwrap it. You will slide in my DMs with questions. Questions I cannot and will not answer. You have been warned.
About a year ago I watched my mother shred a document from her bank telling her that all of her personal information had been stolen, including her social security number.
Most lawyers and doctors with an home office are the reason personal information gets out. Rarely are home offices locked and off limits to others. Rarely computers and networks separate from personal usage and others... Don't even start on the other medical profession... As an IT guy, I am sure i would find fault with what BOTH of your are doing in terms of HIPPA laws... There is never enough you can do to priotech others data... I know people give it away for free, but still... As gate keepers, we should take the responsiblity seriously.
