I have 3 Japanese maples and the seedlings pop up like weeds around the yard. Beautiful trees, but the foliage doesn't tolerate the 100° plus weather or direct sunlight we get here in the summer very well. Best planted in a shady area in hot climates.
I'm very curious about the thumbs down. Japanese maples can be pretty expensive and you have photos of the plants, price and upc - and available locally for most at Walmart and three thumbs down. I've been a slick deals member for a long time, and these types of posts I find helpful when I see them. I don't mind a thumbs down, but would like to know why for future posts (and making a decision to not post).
.
If you find a deal continue posting, don't worry about the TDs
May be if there is product link put that for reference - that will help few not to TDs.

These are hardy beautiful trees at a great price. I planted 2 and an a$hole squirrel chewed all around the base of the tree killing them. If I had caught him in the act I would have ended him. I have a friend that has several of these and some Dogwoods that are beautiful.

It isn't a local or store specific deal, it should be available at least regionally.

How tall are these trees and how do they compare to the recent Frontpage Costco deal?

Costco doesn't out the gallon size, but the Walmart trees are probably
3-3.5 ft tall.

One user said 3-3.5' tall. Seems like a big bonsai! And my last 2 drastic prunings killed the plant(tea plant and summer flame peach tree)

Prob doesn't grow as slow as a from seed venus fly trap!

you can watch youtube videos on this. your tea plant probably didn't have enough soil as they can survive even if you cut them near the soil line. if you want to grow it as bonsai make sure you use bonsai soil as it drains better and provides more nutrient and air for the roots. if the maple is 4 ft tall you can cut it down to 1 ft right on top of the lower level leaf/branch and you can start to train (shape) it from there

Say my store has 5, should I buy them all? Seems like a great deal if available
