Beware this bank uses every possible avenue to deny your bonus. They claimed ach transfers from my other non US bank accounts to this account weren't "new" funds or money

edit: mods, why did you remove my edit comment telling others that were telling me I did it wrong to go kick rocks!?!

Is opening an account and then closing it after say 90 days a sizable hit on credit score?

Also will an individual qualify as a business? Or do they ask anything beyond SSN?

You sound ignorant.

You should check out the banking sector recently. You might be surprised.

And yes, it's called collapse or failure when banks are illiquid…don't worry the bank won't actually fall down on your head bro

1. If I write a check for $15k from my chase to usbank should suffice?
2. Is there a x days wait period before closing account, if closed, any negative on credit score?
3. Any hard pull?
Quoting cause I'm interested in this as well.

Thank you!

May I ask how long after 60 days you had to wait?
I opened my account Feb/10, funded a few days later with my other bank account.
Got bonus May/08 as "Adjusted interest". So roughly 90 days it seems.

They also charged $6 service fee during this time, which is because of paper statements.

US Bank does suck but I did get my $400 bonus for a personal account. But yes it does suck. But $400 is $400.

Which bank that doesn't suck?

I guess you missed the most important word in my post. It's called " marginal tax". What it means that every next dollar I earned is charged at that rate.Once you are at a marginal tax of federal 37+ 9.75 state tax, every dollar I earn will be charged at 46.75% which is what I meant. I never mentioned that I pay 47% " effective tax rate".
In the USA we have a progressive tax system. Many people don't understand the difference between marginal and effective tax rate
I understand the tax system well. What I had missed was you combining your marginal tax rate for federal and state. Although I'm confused how you came to the statement of "...every dollar I earn will be charged at 46.75%". How do you come to that conclusion? It's my understanding that only the amount of money you earn beyond a certain dollar amount is taxed at that rate, hence the progressive part of the tax system.

The highest tax bracket is 37%, which starts at income over $578,126. That means you'll pay a total of $174,238.25 (sum of all the lower brackets) plus 37% of any amount over $578,125. You are not paying 37% of all the money you earned. See below:

Sample income: $600,000
37% income bracket starting amount: $578,126

Subtract the two to see the income taxed at 37%: $600,000 - $578,126 = $21,874. Multiply this amount by 37% to get $8,093.38. Add this amount to the existing tax liability of $174,238.25 to get a total tax liability of $182,331.63 from an income of $600,000. That means you are being taxed 30.39% for every dollar you earn with that income, not 37%. I'm not going to calculate the state taxes, but the outcome will be similar.

Then again, I'm not the one flexing my income on a thread about earning a $500-$750 checking account bonus. Sounds like that's just a couple hours of work for you anyways lol.

Beware !!!
US Bank is terrible. They will try every possible thing to deny your bonus.
I am a victim of US bank. I met all the criteria and US Bank Customer Service admit it. I have used the promo codes and every step to the dot.
The excuse that was being used "You were not invited for the offer".
They denied saying I should have an invitation to open an bank account, else we will not give you the bonus. This is BS as it was published on their website.
Beware !!!
Take your money to a better bank

If we fund $3,000 from a credit card and the remaining $2,000 via ACH, would we still get the bonus?

Or does all $5,000 have to be via ACH?

I've read people have had mixed results with the $3K CC funding. I plan to do all the $15K ACH for bonus, just to be safe.

I hear your pain.. I am in the same boat. Pay 47% marginal tax ( Federal and state).
But on the brighter side, you make more so that you are in that bracket.
People always crib about paying high income tax, but I am happy to pay high taxes as it tells me that I am a high earner.
You don't want to be in the zero tax bracket in your peak earning years which means you don't earn enough.
100% agree with you there. You would think this is common sense and simple math but I often had argument with people who were so afraid of going up the income bracket. i rather be in the highest tax bracket, that means my total income is amazing.

also no one likes tax, I am ok with it as long as other people are held accountable to the same standard. cant stand those tax evading FL politicians and businesses.

I never had a bonus denied and if so, CFPB complaint.

Yes, writing a check works. I usually request a M.O from my bank after I close the account.

Hard pull? - Idk
If there's no ETF or any wording saying you must keep account open x days or you forfeit the bonus, you are good to go.
