Yeah, that's always the reason. Although quite a few dishwashers don't have a big electric heating element at the bottom, so you're fine on the bottom, depending on the model.

Not neccesarily. I've waited excessively long for extended deliveries. Either the manufacturer or distributor doesn't have enough inventory available (in which case, Amazon shouldn't be advertising something that they don't have) or they're "testing the waters" to see what type of demand exists and then they'll score a better deal from the manufacturer or distributor. Bottom line is that, if you don't have the inventory, don't sell the product!
