I am using LibreOffice for some time now for Word and Excel analogs

They sell gray market ware. They are based out of the middle east, if that matters. I have bought PS plus codes for years, and it works. It is like buying at a flea market. You dont ask where it came from and why it is a great price. If it matters, go buy it directly for $400.

It will work. I would not be bragging about it to everyone. There is always one person who thinks it is there job to screw others. Poor MS is not going to go broke anytime soon.
won't someone PLEASE stop and think of the multitrillion dollar corporations!!!!!!

There's a difference between an activation code that works, and an activation code that was legally obtained and authorized for resale.

If these were basically "stolen" from Microsoft (which they almost certainly are), they do have the possibility of being revoked at any point...whether that is tomorrow or three decades from now.

Really the main personal debate over whether you should buy it is simply if the cheap price makes sense to you regardless of if/when it gets revoked/deactivated, and if you don't mind technically having an illegal license.
You know how many people around the world are using illegitimate keys? If microsoft was to revoke them this would cause outages around the world. The money lost is not worth their reputation being tarnished.

I used to be able to get this for $20 from my employers perk website. Now all they push is the subscription. Absolutely garbage. But don't feel a rush to get this, it's always this price.

Seems kind of odd that MSFT allows these key selling websites like Stacksocial to go on year after year if they are doing something MSFT doesn't want them to do, maybe they've decided it's better to allow someone to use a gray copy of Office than to chase them away to using Google's office product.
It's possible because they have been losing market share to google docs (i don't know how people can use that and actually do business, it's no excel, it's just glorified spreadsheet, which is no excel). Excel is extremely powerful tool, database, very smart way to work with data. Google can't even paste-insert rows.

I bought windows license once from one of these sites on ebay, it worked.. until it didn't. I got a splash screen that it's not valid or whatever and got the watermark.

An activation key IS NOT a license to use the product. The misconception is that if it activates, its good. Microsoft Professional Plus is not even a retail or OEM SKu. It was previous only available as an Open License Agreement. Profession is a retail adn OEM sku ....NOT PLUS. Noone is going to vome after an individual user (well, most likely not), a company--yup..One disgruntled employee filing a complaint with BSA (Business Software Alliance) will trigger an audit. You would have to show an Open License Agreement or the purchase of a perpetual license from a Cloud Services Provider. I've been a Microsoft Partner and reseller for almost 30 years. The license is like the title to a car. The car will run just fine without it andyou have the key...but if ownership is ever questioned --well then you have a problem. Office Professional OEM and Office Professional Retail are in the $400 range from any legitimate dealer. You might as well pay zero and get a key for free off the internet. The theory of I've gotten away with it before so it's okay -- is not rational. Speeding is still a crime even if you don't get caught 50 times. As far as prosecution by Microsoft...they are extremely corporate in their legal approach, I've seen them take 5 years to prosecute..of course in that time they had so much data--that the defendent was bankrupted by the fines. If you don't want to pay the price -- use Libreoffice, Openoffice, etc. 100% piracy or I'd buy 10000 of these and give Office for free with every computer we sell. C'mon people if you need to ask if this is legit -- you're not bright enough to use a computer...You know it's BS so don't lie to yourself.
I agree with you. Well, mostly. Your post kind of insinuates that users might eventually be at risk of prosecution (be it after 5 years). The idea that MS is going to prosecute end users of these license purchases is absurd. They might go after the sellers or the source of these licenses. But not the end users. YOU might be aware these are bad keys, but an end user who paid money for it, from a seemingly legal website may not be. Consumers of this deal are buying a license - not downloading a torrent of a cracked software. There's a huge difference in intent. A person torrenting software is consciously breaking the law. A person buying a license is simply trying to take advantage of a deal.

Needless to say, MS is not going to spend time and money to sue individuals over a $300 product. But let's assume for a second that they do - consumers will simply state (and perhaps rightly so) that they were duped themselves - sold a 'fake' product purporting to be 'real'.

Of course, we can reasonably assume these keys are stolen, so I'm not trying to absolve users of any ethical considerations. But those considerations aside, from a practical point of view, the most consumers of this deal risk is the license becoming invalid at some point.

Since MS has told me my legally purchased windows was no longer valid more than once, I don't have any issues with gray market licenses.

I used to work for a certain very large software company and like someone here said just because you obtained a key doesn't mean you have the right to use the software. A software key is just like a key to your house. If someone found your house key on the street do they have the right to open your door and enter your house? What if they bought the key for two dollars from the homeless guy down the street?
Of course for some people it may be more important to save a few bucks but do it at your own risk and don't tell other people it is harmless. Using Napster was harmless until suddenly the record companies started suing users for millions.

Bought 2 keys from stack social, they were activated for approximately 2 weeks before they stopped working. Not worth the effort IMO.
