I think I'm seeing this because I recently bought this machine and I have activated the trial. May be that's the reason, I'm not seeing that opps.vbs file?

If these were basically "stolen" from Microsoft (which they almost certainly are), they do have the possibility of being revoked at any point...whether that is tomorrow or three decades from now.
Really the main personal debate over whether you should buy it is simply if the cheap price makes sense to you regardless of if/when it gets revoked/deactivated, and if you don't mind technically having an illegal license.
Here's a real life scenario...
Over the years I have bought many of those keys both for windows and office and had zero issues.(not from this site, but that doesn't really matter)
Even if the issue ever will come up, for this price you're losing nothing
"Stolen", "Illegal" what are you even talking about here...
They never had any intention of fixing the bug from version to version, only of getting you to upgrade.
Anyway, check out GnuCash. 100% free open source software from the Gnu free software foundation. It's got double-entry accounting and has been around for decades.
I will be switching my business' books from Quickbooks 2013 (which I keep running on an ancient VM but that Intuit finally killed by removing the ability to sync online with my bank AND removing the ability to generate Accountant's Copies) to GnuCash later this year. I paid in full for a legit copy of Quickbooks 2013 back in 2013 (yes, really), and they gimped it even though it's a "perpetual" license that should run forever so long as I can keep the OS running to support it.
