Put petroleum jelly (or moisturizer of your choice) on your foot, wrap it in cling/Saran wrap, put a sock on, and wear to bed overnight.

Do this until your feet are soft again. Repeat as necessary.

So these foot masks are a slip on booties that you wear for 30 minutes (one pair per package).

Can anyone comment on how effective these things actually are? I think that I have suffered from dry feet and cracked heels, for a couple decades, and I am always on the lookout for something that will actually help to soften them. Especially, because I also have Sciatica and it seems like the burning pain from my Sciatica is even worse, when my feet are more dry and cracked than they usually are.

Dr Scholls sever cracked heel balm has worked wonders for me.

Thank you very much, for the reply and the suggestion. I actually have some of that stuff on my feet right now, that I put on, earlier today. While it does seem to help, it just does not seem to penetrate deeply enough, or have a significant enough effect, for my feet to fully heal and stop hurting.

It seems like Bag Balm is about the only thing that I have found that is significantly effective, with regards to moisturizing my feet; but, it is a pain in the ass to try to put it on my feet and not have it get on my sheets and clothing, because of how messy it can be. And I do have the plastic foot gloves, but, they are very uncomfortable to wear. And it is very bothersome, while trying to sleep, while wearing them. Which is what I usually try to do, so that I get several hours of having the Bag Balm being absorbed in to my feet.

So, I've been trying to find some alternatives that might actually have a deep moisturizing effect, because my feet seem to be particularly dehydrated.

Try the bag balm and get some low cut cotton socks (from a Slickdeal, of course) you use specifically for wearing to bed over them. Plastic foot covers are going to be uncomfortable always, I've just thrown old pairs of socks with holes I don't want to wear in shoes over if I lotion my feet before bed.

That's a good idea! I also think these foot masks are worth trying at this price.

That sounds like dehydration is partly to blame

I was going to suggest this, too, but I also find it works great without the saran wrap. My heels often crack during the summer sandal season (which in AZ is practically year round) and an overnight with vaseline and socks helps immensely. I'll also suggest Amlactin lotion (also under socks at night) which smells awful to me, but is very effective at softening dry cracked heels.
I hope you're able to find some relief with all these suggestions, BillyJackAZ!

I also suffer from dry feet and these work amazingly for me. I use them at least twice a year and that seems to do the trick for me. YMMV.

I'm in a similar spot. Silicone socks have been sent by God for me. I put lotion on (I've used a bunch but found Eucerin rough skin has worked best on my heels) along with trying to keep my heels cleaned up a bit with a power sander (Electric Callus Remover, RUEOO Rechargeable Electronic Feet File Hard Skin Remover IPX7 Waterproof Pedicure Tool for Cracked Heels and Dead Skin, with 3 Coarse Roller Heads Foot Rasp) - have really been able to keep my feet from the deep bleeding cracks.

Silicone socks. The first night I tried - changed my life. I started with ZenToes fluffy ones and they were great although somewhat tight for my size 13 feet. Moved to the non fluffy ones so that I could more easily wear them with shoes. They don't work as well (thinner) but are more size appropriate for me. None of them last forever but for me $15 every 2 or so months is worth it.

My go to is aquaphor and socks at night. I also use a foot file once a month or so to scrape off all the dead skin. It's ridiculous how much dead skin comes off - especially in the winter months. All these products seem to work a lot better when there isn't 50 layers of dead skin to penetrate.
