Bought these at Home Depot during the Christmas time for $30+.
It does a good job of blocking out low mower, blower, whipper while still being able to hear your music or podcast.

The mic feature lets you hear people talking to you without the need of removing the muffs.

Almost ordered but then had second thoughts after seeing some of the reviews where the battery stopped charging, or they slide on your head.

WALKER'S RAZOR SLIM ELECTRONIC MUFF on Amazon have an NRR of 23 and are rated for range. I wonder if they have special circuits that kick in on sudden noise like a gunshot vs continuous noise reduction like a saw or lawnmower

Yeah those walkers have a mic and amplify sounds through a speaker in your ear, when a loud report is detected it cuts the mic/speaker for a moment.

Probably good for teens or wives at NHRA drag racing or air shows. It can get really loud. I wonder if the battery can be replaced when needed. It's kind of a pain with some gaming headsets.

That's pretty funny, laugh out loud My city has an air show once a year and I don't mind the jet sounds. My family doesn't really enjoy it when they pass by low and fast. Men should really wear them, too. I prefer the ear plug type, but these headphones are cool.

I know it depends, but most activities where you would need ear protection, it is probably a good idea to be giving it your full attention. Im thinking power tools and such, but I understand lawn mowing this would make sense.
I get where you are coming from but my experience over the past 5 years of owning the 3M worktunes has been the opposite. I love everything about the worktunes but the range, which isn't normally a problem for my usage. My main uses are: lawn mowing/weed eating, sandblasting (hours and hours), brush cutting, angle grinding, and using a demo hammer on tile/thinset. All things where a book on tape or music fit the bill perfectly. For the price of these, I'd give them a shot if I didn't already have some.

I absolutely recommend the 3m flat temple safety glasses.
